Max Brearley is an editor, journalist and consultant exploring the world of food, drink, agriculture and travel. For over 16 years stories have been his stock in trade, from top tier feature writing, to managing innovative events, editing the state restaurant guide, and much more.

A regular contributor to publications including The Australian, The Weekend Australian Magazine, The Guardian, delicious, Escape, Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Halliday, Gourmet Traveller WINE, and SilverKris, Max is currently Guide Editor for The West Australian Good Food Guide, the most comprehensive annual survey and celebration of West Australian hospitality.  He has written his popular newsletter Between Meals since 2021, which is now read in 60+ countries.  

 

As a consultant, copywriter and host Max has worked on branded content projects with clients including Tourism WA, Tourism Australia, Australia’s South West, Your Margaret River, Australia’s Golden Outback, IMG (Western Australia Gourmet Escape), Brookfield Properties, West Australian Opera, Pullman Hotels and Resorts (Accor), CitiBank, Perth Writers Festival, Buy West Eat Best and more. Between 2016 - 2018 he was a Festival Director for Truffle Kerfuffle, Australian Truffle Festival.
